Stop the Gun Violence

Tragedy has struck again - this time, in Newtown, Connecticut. Again and again, our nation mourns as mass shooters destroy lives and devastate families. And yet, Congress fails to take action. Please join me in standing with the Mayors Against Illegal Guns to demand common-sense gun laws that close the loopholes that put these dangerous weapons in the wrong hands.

Once again, gun violence has destroyed a community. It's time for action. It's time for Congress to immediately renew Sen. Feinstein's ban on assault weapons and ban high capacity ammunition magazines. We stand with the Mayors Against Illegal Guns to demand and take action to close the gun loopholes that allow mentally-disturbed individuals and those with criminal records to buy guns, to buy them at under-regulated gun shows, and to buy them without comprehensive background checks.
