Former West LA Councilmember & Current President of Board of Harbor Commissioners Picks Greuel

LOS ANGELES — Adding to her list of endorsements of former elected officials, today Wendy Greuel secured an endorsement from former Councilmember and current President of the Board of Harbor Commissioners, Cindy Miscikowski.

Miscikowski represented Los Angeles’ 11th City Council District, which covers neighborhoods including Mar Vista, Venice, Playa del Rey, Marina Del Rey, and large sections of Del Rey, Playa Vista, and West Los Angeles. Before redistricting in 2002, she served San Fernando Valley communities of Van Nuys, Encino, Tarzana, Woodland Hills and covered a large segment of the Santa Monica Mountains.

“Wendy Greuel is tough and determined,” said Miscikowski. “As a Councilwoman, she truly set the standard for constituent services, and held City departments to a high level of performance and efficiency.’ Beyond basic services, Wendy’s been on the forefront of our city’s biggest and most pressing issues. As Controller, Wendy has exposed over $150 million in waste, fraud, and inefficiency. As Mayor, I know that Wendy will focus on getting our fiscal house in order and our economy back on track, and provide leadership to ensure L.A. is a world class city of the future, and that’s why I’m proud to give her my enthusiastic support.”

“Cindy’s endorsement sends a message on the Westside and across the city,” said Greuel. “I am thrilled to have her support.”

Miscikowski is currently President of the Los Angeles Board of Harbor Commissioners. Miscikowski was a member of the Los Angeles City Council from 1997 to 2005 and before that served as chief of staff to Councilmember Marvin Braude.

What Matters to Wendy

"Everywhere I go, Angelenos tell me the same thing.

"They're frustrated with government. They believe the city doesn't work and they don't see a clear set of priorities on how to fix it. They want someone who they know will prioritize job creation and get our economy moving again. And, they want better schools for our kids.

"These are issues I will champion as Mayor."
